Hi.  I’m Mink Stole and I’ve had the great good luck to have acted in some of the most amazing movies in American film history.  Also, with my Wonderful Band, I’m just about ready to release my very first CD! So here is where you can find out what I’m up to, and also, because so many people ask me, it’s where you can get autographed photographs of me in some of your favorite roles, as well as autographed copies of some of the great movies I’ve had the good luck to be in. Enjoy, and stay in touch.

Come to NYC and play a show with ROCKS OFF!

    Wonderful, wonderful, Mink!
So sad that the weather kept myself and the lovely Cathy away from your Baltimore show and from extending the love of Peaches Christ to you. Now there’s a place to keep track more solidly of events and such- and perhaps a venue for sale of those fabulous potholders I’ve heard so much about? Stay Evil!

  3. Hi Mink!

You’re amazing, and I love your voice! I heard you on the “A Date With John Waters”-collection. I hope someday you’ll come to Stockholm, Sweden!

    Best regards,

  4. Mink,

Mink, you’re amazing! Thrilling. Exhilarating. If I were some kind of psycho maniac, I’d kidnap you so to gently put you in a huge glass jar filled with formaldehyde and drag you around me at all times for my own perverted delight. But I’m not, I’m just a mentally sane (well, kind of) huge fan of your work as an artist, in every sense of the word. No need to watch your back, now! =)

Keep up the good work! Best wishes,
    RPSchmitt, from Brazil

I am so thrilled to have found your Web site!!! From the first time I saw Pink Flamingos, I was on a constant search to find more of the movies your crew made. You, and the rest of that wonderful crew, have been a creative inspiration throughout my journalism career and in my new endeavor as a potter. Thank you, and many pussywillows to you!

Thank you so much — it’s wonderful to hear. Good luck as a potter — I threw a few back in the early ’90s and thoroughly enjoyed it. Too bad my pots didn’t reflect how much fun I was having.

Just caught you on the closing night of ‘Now the Cats with Jeweled Claws’ at LaMaMa. You were, of course, perfect as Madge. I very much enjoyed your performance and the play. Plus I was in awe that the great Mink Stole was just 15 feet away on stage!

Thank you for such an enjoyable evening.

  11. John Starr says:

Oh, and long time fan. I think you should have gotten the Oscar for your performance in Desperate Living. Peggy Gravel remains one of my all-time favorite characters in film — right up there with Dottie Hinkle!

Hi Lou, Thanks for the sweet note and the compliments. The CD is not yet finished (scheduling is a bitch) but we are getting back into the studio next month. It’s too bad you didn’t call Divine back, he was such a nice man and was so friendly to his fans, but life is full of the things we did and didn’t do, right? If I kicked myself over all the things I think I did wrong, my butt would be permanently black and blue!
      Happy New Year!

My 10 year old daughter’s favorite song on the Date With John Waters CD? You guessed it! Mink Stole’s “Sometimes I Wish I Had a Gun”!

  14. Brian says:

I just saw a clip from Desperate Living, I am gonna have to see that whole movie, I love that scene where you are panting and moaning as the phone in the bedroom rings and you say “Hello?…What Number are you calling? ” and you really go crazy when they tell you they dialed the wrong number, I am so like this sometimes, I can’t express it though, often enough, hahahaha !!!! You really crack me up, this is my new line now, “what number are you calling?”, the whole scene, my partner and I love reciting scenes, from our favorite shows or movies, and we love this one !!!! XXXOOO Brian

    Hi Mink,

I just got through a nasty divorce, and while I was going thru some of the worst times, I would watch “Hairspray”, and it lifted my spirits. I have always loved your work, you are a great actress, a beauty, a true sparkling, powerful, ball of fire of a human being. God bless, and thank you for your amazing body of work. Hairspray truly helped me through some of the toughest times during my divorce. Now, a couple of years later, and well into moving forward, I am SO much better, stronger, I made it, life is mending, there are times when I can actually thank God and say “All is well with the world…” It’s been a while. I am grateful and humbled by this life, and yet, with all its pain sometimes, I am so happy to be in it. Ordering your “No Grinding” pic for my home is a milestone. I have not had the money, for at least 2 years, I have been forced to be super frugal, working multiple jobs on top of my FT job, and only very recently, have I enjoyed a tiny shred of financial recovery. I have promised myself throughout my ordeal that I would get your pic as a victory/recovery gift to myself when I felt the time was right. Today is right, and I just ordered your pic. I will hang it with pride, and not only is it a reminder of a great film that brings happiness and comfort to SO many people, but for me, it will be a constant reminder to NEVER GIVE UP.

    Thank you, Mink. Rock on.

    Your friend,

    Regina Baker

ps…Baltimore is one of my favorite cities….love it, love it….used to stay at the Peabody Court for biz……almost like Rittenhouse Square. XO

Thank you for your very kind words, and congratulations on making through some pretty rough stuff! I know what it is to have to care about every penny, and to have my life turned upside down, so I’m really touched that you want my photo as part of your reward. I love the movie Hairspray too. I just saw it again at a film festival in Macon, Georgia, and it still makes me laugh out loud! And without laughter, the world would be a dreary place, no?

How nice you love Baltimore — I moved back her a little over 5 years ago, and I’m glad every day that I did.

Hi Mink Stole. It´s here a John Waters, Divine and Mink Stole´s devotee! I really would like to know you and to get an autograph on all my movies where you played . So… I wanted to ask you if you have planned to come to the UK (any event…) in the next few months.

Secondly, could you please reccomend me something to see or visit related to any of the Dreamlanders in thos country! (as I am currently living in the UK). Thanks a lot and best wishes with your new cd!!

    Dear Mink:
I just saw “Hush Up Sweet Charlotte” at the Cinema Diverse film festival in Palm Springs at the Camelot Theater. The audience was was 99% gay men, and everyone hooted and hollered for you in your scenes. Very funny, and you nailed the Velma role.
I hope you had as much fun making it as we did watching it.

    Hi Karl,

Thanks for your message, and your kind words. There is a Gift Shop page on the website that displays all the photographs we have available for sale, which can be personally autographed however you like. The proceeds of the sales go to the maintainance of the site and the costs of producing the CD I am currently working on.

  19. admin says:

Can you give me just a little more info?

  20. admin says:

I’m not planning anything at the moment. If you’re asking whether John Waters will be making any more, the answer is maybe not. He keeps so busy writing, touring and making art, that raising money for movies is low on his list. It would be fun to do another, though!

Right now, I’m concentrating more on getting my CD out (just a few more weeks!) and some stage acting, which I’ll post about when I know more.
